Spicy Italian Sausage

Directions
  1. Fry the strips of red pepper and diced Italian sausage in the oil for  3-4 minutes.
  2. Add the DOLMIO® Express Spicy Italian sauce to the pan and heat gently until hot.
  3. Cook the pasta in boiling water for 10-12 minutes until soft and "al dente".
  4. Drain well and serve the spicy sausage sauce on the spaghetti, topped with basil leaves and with grated Parmesan cheese.

Alternative cooking suggestion
For a vegetarian option, add the sauce to a pan of fried mixed vegetables, simmer together for a couple of minutes and serve over spaghetti or tagliatelle.

Know your sausage!
Use salami or Spanish Chorizo sausage in this recipe, along with a few pitted black olives.

  • 250g dried spaghetti
  • 1 red pepper, halved. de-seeded and cut into even strips
  • 175g Italian spicy sausage, cut into dice
  • 15ml olive oil
  • handful of basil leaves
