Can your products be frozen?
Any food that is opened and has not been used within 24 hours can be split into meal sized portions and frozen. These individual meals, if sealed, can be kept in a deep freeze and will remain nutritious for up to one month. Food should then be thawed out in a refrigerator and used within 24 hours.
Can I use chicken, fish, mushrooms or other vegetables in your recipes instead of pork or beef?
Yes, of course. The key to great cooking is putting a personal touch on your favourite recipes. Feel free to experiment with different ingredients and ideas, and include delicious Dolmio® for that authentic Italian taste.
I've opened my jar of Dolmio® and used some of the sauce. How long will the rest keep?
The contents of any jar or pouch foods are at their best when freshly opened and used quickly. If there is more food than you need for one meal, the rest can be kept in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Do the pouches need to be stored in the fridge before opening?
Pouches should be stored in a cool, dry place (e.g. kitchen cupboard) before use. Once opened the contents should be stored in the fridge and used within three days.
How long will your products last?
The shelf life of Dolmio products vary. Please check the pack for exact details.
Where do I find the best before date?
The best before date can be found in the following places:
Stir-ins – side of pot
Pouches – reverse side of pouch within a white strip
Jar – around the side of the lid
My jar of Dolmio® has passed its best before date. Will it still be safe to use?
Dolmio does not recommend using any product that is past its 'best before' date.
Can I cook express sauce and pasta in the microwave at the same time?
We would not recommend that these products be place in the microwave at the same time, as the cooking times do vary. We recommend that the sauce be cooked first and then put aside whilst the pasta is cooking.
I've cooked my Dolmio® sauce according to your recipe but it doesn't seem cooked. Why is this?
All Dolmio recipes and cooking instructions featured on pack are based on estimated times and should only be used as a guideline as ovens and equipment used in the home may differ slightly.
Can I eat Dolmio® products cold?
All our products are cooked prior to packaging and are therefore safe to use straight from the jar/pouch. However, Mama recommends that you heat them up first to enjoy the full taste.
