Our History
At DOLMIO®, we are passionate about food. Since our beginnings in 1986, we’ve known the importance of meals shared with family and friends, and that they’re moments to be cherished. Because of this, we select only the finest quality ingredients for all our products to provide the best taste and quality.
We’ve come a long way since the early 1980’s when Pasta, which is low in fat and a good source of carbohydrate, really took off in the UK. In Australia, in 1985 Masterfoods test-launched Alora Spaghetti Bolognese sauce in a 500g resealable glass jar. From Australia, Alora moved to a small launch in Scotland, where it became an immediate hit. After changing its name to DOLMIO®, the brand began to grow in popularity in the UK, Ireland and then started rolling out globally. For the first time, Spaghetti Bolognese was easy to cook!
DOLMIO® took an existing favourite meal and made it easier and even more accessible; turning it into an experience that everyone could enjoy sharing together. As we've grown over the years and across the countries the one thing that's never changed is the simple promise that lies at the heart of Dolmio - great tasting Italian food that everyone loves coming together to share and enjoy.

For over 40 years, DOLMIO® has helped families turn everyday pasta recipes into moments worth sharing. The family returning is our way of celebrating that legacy, while reminding everyone that there’s no single “right” way to cook with DOLMIO®. Add your own twist, follow a classic recipe, or be spontaneous and make it up as you go, however you do it, that’s your DOLMIO® way.
